Curtis Arboretum
1250 Church Road (Route 73),
Wyncote, Pennsylvania
Drive through the gated entrance located on Church Rd. Park your car in the rectangular lot on the left, right past Curtis Hall. Not far from the place you have parked your car, locate the head of a stone lion. Descend to the lower level towards a bench under a tree. From this bench find 110° and walk until you come upon two trees that branches reach the ground. Look around you, not to far off down the hill is pond. Take a minute to see if you can find any turtles, frogs or coy hiding in the water. Not to far a way you will see another pond (in the summer there is usually a spring running). When you reach the pond look for a sign on chain that is meant to keep cars off the road. The chain is wrapped around an old dying tree, here is where you will find what you are looking for! When you replace the box make sure you check from all angles that it is not visible.
The arboretum is a great place bring your dog and have a picnic.
(Note: the location of this box was changed 4/2/11)
(For those that are handicapped one can get very close to this box on wheels even without going on grass. Message me with any questions!)
