Due to construction and other issues both boxes will have to be relocated.
They are currently not available. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Sit A Spell

Come and enjoy beautiful Apple Canyon Lake. If you do not own land at the lake you are free to walk the Trail system, eat at the beautiful Cove Restaurant and play at the Golf Course which is open to the public. This is the first box to discover. Leave Galena on Stagecoach Rd, going east PAST Elizabeth Scales Mound Rd. Continue east on Stage Coach Rd to Pea Ridge Rd. Turn right on Pea Ridge going south until the road runs into Apple Canyon Rd. Continue on to Kennedy Rd. turn left to Polk (it seems about the best place to park your car) then walk back to the trail where you see a golf cart crossing, turn right and then walk about ¼ mile to the Curtiss Bench. As you face the bench on your left is a tree stump and buried in the stump under the loose bark is the box you’re looking for.
It’s a good place to sit a spell and enjoy a picnic lunch or just enjoy a hike and the great outdoors.

The Cove Mystery

Go back to Apple Canyon Rd. Turn left and proceed to second stop sign turn left again and follow Apple Canyon Rd and the signs to the Cove Restaurant. As you go down the hill toward the restaurant there is a parking lot on your left pull into the parking lot and you will see at the far end of the parking lot is a beautiful gazebo. Walk through the gazebo and after the bench and before the big tree on your left is a rock wall in the wall about knee high are some small rocks, you will solve the mystery by looking behind those rocks.
Be sure to plan extra time so you can dine at the Cove Restaurant and enjoy the beautiful view of Apple Canyon Lake. You may want to call ahead should you decide dine there, the number for the restaurant is 815-492-2144, or you may choose to bring a basket lunch and eat in the gazebo. Either way I’m sure it will be a wonderful outing. Happy Letterboxing
