Drive up SR 206 to the entrance of Mt. Spokane State Park. For a longer hike you can start here on trail 110 (the pull out is just a short drive past the entrance to the park). Otherwise drive up to the big hairpin turn about half way up. There is a large parking area on the right hand side of the road so you can't miss it. Park and carefully cross the road at the top of the parking lot and start on the trail after the closed gate. This is a service gravel road. You will pass a picnic table and a trailhead for trail #100. Keep going and after a short easy walk you will come around a corner and see another picnic table on your right. Trail # 110 crosses the road here. There is a rocket-shaped rustic restroom down the trail to your left but you want to take the right side trail. Quickly there is a first switchback but you will keep walking until you come to a second switchback. Do you see the hole-y tree laying on the ground pointing away from the trail? Walk to the center (approximately) of this downed log and look roughly to your left. Walk 6 steps to the large wide-based cedar tree. The box is behind the tree. Please take the time to cover the box completely and securely. This little side trail doesn't appear to get as much mountain bike traffic as the other sections of trails do in this area. This area is great for snow-shoeing in the winter.
