This letterbox was placed in honor of my Father, Theodore P. Leonhard III who passed away on September 12, 2010. This was his favorite fishing spot, I hope you enjoy it as much as he did!!
You must first find route 225 that runs through Middle Paxton Township, follow that until it comes to route 325 E, make a right onto Clarks Valley Rd. From there you must go just about 9.3 miles, you will pass a trout hatchery, a sign stating that the land is for State Game Land and Public Hunting, and sign with a blue A with a shield on it. All of these things will be on the right side of the road.
Once you have driven the right amount of miles, between telephone poles with the verticle number 240 and 241, you will see a small pull off on the right, it does not look like much, but oh it is! Do not park in front of the gate. Follow the trail south. You will have to pass over, under and around some fallen trees, but just keep going. The trail will narrow out a bit. You will pass a giant hemlock, look forward to the beaten path for it will lead you to the spot you have come to find.
Once at the creek you will see a moss covered stump, turn and go upstream about 32 paces to cross the tree that touches the water. Go through the clearing to the broken tree. With your back to the water find the tree that is three, for near there on the right you will find a tree that has no life. Hiding there where that tree splits is where your treasure is.
The stamp you will find is again in honor of my dad, he loved racing, and this was his driver.
HAVE FUN!!!
