Your search will start within the New River Trail State Park (North) at Foster Falls (go here for more information www.virginiastateparks.gov).

To get there go I-77, take Exit 24, go east on Route 69 to Route 52, go north to Route 608, go east and follow signs. Parking fee required. Here is a map of how to get there and the New River State Park - http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/state_parks/documents/newrivern.pdf

Enter the park and go to the right. Continue till you come to last parking lot. If you see a covered picnic area and a kids play ground area, you are in the right spot.

Go to the covered picnic area.

Next go to the outdoor grill located at the end of the covered picnic area.

From the grill, go west toward the New RIver. You will stop when you come to a forked tree.

From there go north till you get to another outdoor grill.

You will then notice a small path 90 degrees east from the grill. About six (6) walking paces away. Follow the path.

The path will lead you to a gravel horse trail/road.

Go north on the gravel horse trail/road until you get to the first large turn to your left.

At the end of left turn/bend there will be three trees growing together on your right.

Go east toward the trees about eight (8) walking paces.

There will be a stack of rocks between the trees.

Look underneath the rocks…..

Continue to enjoy the park. It is a wonderful place to picnic, hike, and enjoy the history and the outdoors.
