Sophie arrived early for her first day at the Intergalactic Temp Agency. She had no idea what to expect.
What she discovered on her arrival was chaos.
Locking up her bike, Sophie surveyed the scene: the large parking lot of the Temp Agency’s corporate headquarters was, she thought, what Moscow must look like a rush hour. Cars honked, bumper to bumper, barely moving, in an effort to park; some drivers had simply given up, and cars were left haphazardly, forming another obstacle for those still vying to maneuver in or out. The lot, Sophie noted, was also – and quite surprisingly she thought – congested with robots in band uniform, marching decidedly out of formation.
“Sophie! Sophie, is that you,” a woman yelled, rushing out of the office’s front doors, “I’m Nina. We spoke on the phone. We need you.”
“You certainly need someone,” Sophie muttered, but the remark was lost to the cacophonous sound of car horns competing to be heard over the random articulations of the robot-band.
A moment passed.
“I think they’re playing ‘Stars and Stripes Forever’!” Sophie exclaimed, louder this time. “Yes, yes, they must be, but they’ve all begun at different times, and they – well look at the Tuba-bot,” she said pointing, “It has marched itself up against the wall, and it just keeps right on marching.”
“So you see our problem,” Nina responded. “They were delivered this morning – The Greater American Show Band, in town for the SuperFun Bowl on Saturday– but CosmEx dumped them without double checking the packing slip. We’ve been delivered a band without a leader. The Sousa-bot is missing! You’ll have to find him.”

Sophie needs your help to locate the missing Sousa-bot!

CosmEx has admitted that it may have fallen off the cargo plane, and have agreed to track the box in which the Sousa-bot was shipped. Records indicate that the robot disappeared over Waller Mill Park.

THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY.

You’ve found the crate in which the Sousa-bot was shipped, but no –bot!

Sophie thought of the old saying, “Half a ‘bot is better than no ‘bot at all.” Still, she figures she should keep searching. She continues down the Bayberry trail. After a few minutes of brisk walking, she notices a giant hollow tree to the right of the trail standing sentry. Across the trail, to her left is a tree covered with initials. Sophie lingers a moment to read the graffiti before moving on again. Another tree to the left of the trail has caught her attention!

“CB + RM. I wonder who they are,” Sophie thought, but her musing is cut short by the distinct sounds of a snoring robot.

Standing next to the tree with the initials CB +RM carved in its trunk, Sophie looks to her left, off the path. The sound seems to be coming from a large stump . . . !

With the snoozing Sousa-bot carefully placed back in its case, Sophie continues the Bayberry loop back to the parking lot.

“Thanks” she yells as she hops back on her bike, “Thanks for your help!”
