Green Lane Park is located off Rt29 in Green Lane, PA. It is a beautiful park with a large reservoir with fishing and boat rentals available. There is a very nice camping area also available (first come, first served). During the summers they show Movies Under the Stars and on the first weekend of September there is an Irish/Scottish Festival with food, contests and dancing. Check out the park.

Difficulty: This is relatively easy terrain with a small amount of off trail walking required. Also, minimal compass skills are required.
Note: a pace is two steps. i.e. Count a pace every time you step on your right foot.

No stamp pad is included. Please bring your own.

Start at he Gazebo.
Standing in the center of the gazebo, take a bearing of 240 degrees. Head in this direction until you encounter a small building.
Standing at the NorthEast corner of this structure, bear 180 degrees.
Be careful crossing any vehicular roadways.
If you stay on this bearing you should hit a trail.
Take this trail into the woods until it forks.
Turn right.
The trail becomes less distinct at this point. Just work your way back until you reach the highest point in the area. There should be a large rock there. Stand on it and look towards the campgrounds. About 20 or so feet away is another large rock(5 feet diameter) that looks like a giant tortoise (at least my kids and I thought so).
Just beyond that amphibian is another large rock.
Check out the back side of that one. Underneath.

Please be discrete when stamping and replacing the box since this is a popular hiking area.

If you have time, go look for our other boxes, The Green Tree Frog, Golden Oak, Red Maple and the Little Ladybug.

Please email us to let us know you found it! trainear@comcast.net
Hope you had fun.
