This hike is great if you are looking for a hike with a lookout, but not too much elevation gain. About a 1000 feet over 3 miles one way (so this is a 6-mile RT hike).
B*u*l*l of the W*o*o*d*s trail 5*5*0 is found by following 224 out of Estacada, right on 46 at Ripplebrook CG, right on 63, and follow the roads to 6340 to the trailhead.
At 1.6 miles is Terrace Spring. At 3.2 miles is the BOW lookout. There are views of the valley on both sides of you, along the way, including Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, Mother Lode Mtn, Pansy Mtn, Big Slide Mtn (Big Slide Lake is visible at the base of it), Si Butte, Olallie Butte, Sisters, Broken Top? Bachelor? Adams? Depends on conditions. But at the top of the lookout you have a 360* view.
Speaking of degrees, from the steps of the lookout, seveal steps away at 280* you will find a treasure well-housed against the elements. Bring green ink. Please recover it well.
