From US-31 head down into charlevoix and cross the bridge and take the first right onto Park Ave. Go all the way down and take a right onto Grant street down a hill to Michigan Beach. Go a little ways down and take a right onto palmer street which will lead you to a parking lot made up of dirt. Park here. Okay, now walk up Palmer Street and go up the hill a little ways, no all the way, but untill you reach a little side road that will take you in a circle. Go down this road. This road will lead you to a parking lot. Go here. On the side of the parking lot you should see a side walk, take this sidewalk and go away from the beach untill you see a little walk made of brick jutting into the trees. Go in here. Right now you should see a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Well anyway, from this little lookout you will see a trail heading into the trees, take this trail. Go straight, DO NOT go to the beach or to the parking lot. Going STRAIGHT and NOT taking any side trails, you should come to a cut down tree to your right that is perfect for stamping up. Well, keep going STRAIGHT untill you see a white birch tree tilting towards the lake. Stop here. You're close! Look to your right to see two trees conjoined together and that have been cut down. On top of one conjoined tree, there should be a large, flat, white rock on top. And in the other is the letterbox. Be careful when stamping up because of people and my first hand carved stamp is very fragile. He had to be glued. So let the adults stamp him please! Happy
