From the light at the intersection of River Street/U.S. 31 in Elk Rapids, drive north on U.S. 31 for 4.8 miles to Campbell Road. Turn right onto Campbell Road driving east approx. 2.1 miles until the road T's at N.W. Torch Lake Drive. You will see a house with a split rail fence surrounding the yard straight ahead of you.
Turn left (north) onto NW Torch Lake Dr. and almost immediately on your right, just past the split rail fence, you will see a gravel drive with a sign that says "Public Access to Lake".
Turn right and go straight (east)to the lone apple tree on the shoreline. Look at the base of the tree under some rocks.
Be sure to allow yourself some extra time to enjoy the clear blue waters of Torch Lake, once named by National Geographic as one of the 10 most beautiful lakes in the world.
