The Lying Man LB is by no means meant to be offensive to my male friends or any man... the stamp is an optical illusion, if you hold it one way it looks like a man with glasses and rotate 90 degrees and you will see the word "LIAR"

In keeping with the lying man theme... the lying man ALWAYS lies!!! and that is crucial when following the clues. :)

Yauger Park is known for its skate park and baseball fields, in the back of Yauger Park is Dirt Works. A series of nature trails and also workshops on composting and worm bins.

To get to Dirt Works: Take the Black Lake Blvd from Hwy 101, if you are coming from I-5 make a right at the end of the ramp, coming from Shelton or Aberdeen direction, make a left at the end of the ramp. At the traffic light (you will see Yauger Park across the street on your left) turn left onto Copper Point and then at the 2nd light turn left onto Capital Mall Drive. Follow a short distance and look for a fairly large sign that says "Dirt Works" on your right. Turn onto the road and go past an apartment complex and enter the park's parking lot.

Park and Start at the "Nature Trail" Follow the trail, when you come to a tree in the middle of the trail the lying man tells you to go to the right. Immediately you will see another trail joining and then stay right. At the log the lying man would tell you not to go on the man made trail with skid resistant cover. Follow the trail over the creek and continue onto a regular trail. The lying man says don't go onto the second man made trail. At the information stand on Douglas Fir, Oregon Grape, Sword Fern, etc, the lying man says go right. Then at the next Y the lying man says go right again. Continue onto another man made trail, with a bench near the end if you want to rest. Follow onto the main trail, go between two smaller trees with white bark and past a section that looks burnt. You may want to stop here on the left to learn about Birds with different bills and Chirps, Warbles, Cheeps and Trills. Continue past a tiny stump, and the lying man says to take the next right. And go over some roots, wind around, and be careful not to trip over another bigger root. At the Y the lying man says go right. Go onto a man made trail and then when that ends, take 6 paces. The lying man says to avoid the moss and leaf covered log on the right and if you have to pry, the lying man says to look on top of the log.

Since this is my first hiding a LB experience please feel free to email me if clarification is needed. Also, please email me when you find the box and let me know what you think and was it too easy, too hard, etc... Thanks jessijrr@comcast.net

PS. It has come to my attention that there is a Geocaching Box at the exact same log... what are the chances???? I checked on the LB 10/31/03 and it is alive and well, but much smaller then the Geocaching box that is also hidden there. Be persistent and you will find the LB. Look under from the front. Happy hunting!
