Jacob's Well is a perpetual artesian spring, pumping thousands of gallons of fresh water per minute to form Cypress Creek. Considered a sacred place by native Americans and the heart of Wimberley by early settlers, today Jacob's Well supports a habitat rich in wildlife and plant life. The Hays County Parks Department now owns the Jacob's Well Natural Area and access is free unless you want to swim.

Directions:
From FM 2325 go east on Jacob's Well Rd, or from RR 12 go west, for about 1 mile, then north on Mt. Sharp Rd about 0.5 mile to Jacob's Well Natural Area on the left. Drive down to Visitor Parking by the Nature Center.

Clues:
Walk on gravel path through entry by Nature Center and stay right at jcts to steps going down to creek on right. Follow creek to Jacob's Well then go left and up to fence overlooking Well. Face away from Well and walk 10 steps to multi-trunk cedar tree. Letterbox is within trunks under rocks and needles. Enjoy the view.
