Find the now famous reservoir on route 44 in West Hartford. Drive to the back lot and park near the porta potties. Walk up the hill to the yellow gate and follow the trail (dirt road) down, left and over the bridge. Shortly you'll see a post on the right with blue blazes and a sign indicating the Metacomet Trail. Go right up hill following blue blazes, the trail will curve around a large boulder on the left, pass a long low boulder also on the left and start downhill. At the bottom of the hill there's an unmarked trail on the right (but stay on blue the whole way) continue uphill and come to another unmarked trail also on the right. Just after this start looking on the right for a ledge area on the right with one big boulder trail side. Facing this big guy, look uphill to the right for a row of three trees (a three sister?) (or a three finger?) Look in a hole at the base of the middle finger :-)
Use caution climbing to get the box.

Two mile round trip. Any color ink will do. We used blue.

If you continue on blue, soon turning right and going under the power lines, you'll see a good sized boulder on the left with three small trees behind it. At the base of the middle one is box #13 of the Halloween Series recarved (with permission) by Gizz and replanted very close to the original spot.
