Robert Penn Warren was the first Poet Laureate of the United States, the only person to win Pulizter Prizes in two different categories, and the reknown author of All the King's Men. He was born in the small town of Guthrie, KY and the town celebrates his life a works with a museum. The Robert Penn Warren Birthplace Museum is located a the corner of Third and Cherry Streets. Being a small town the directions are simple: Turn onto Cherry Street between the Post office and the bank or turn onto Third Street between the Opera House and the beauty salon. Either way, it is one block in. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 to 3:30 and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00. The museum was very gracious about hosting the box, but did not want it to be mistaken for an exhibit, so they put in under a counter. You will have to ask the volunteer on duty to get it.
