We were in town for a race that my husband was running in. It also happened to be our anniversary and my non-boxing hubby was kind enough to let me do a quick plant to celebrate.
In Petoskey, there is a small parking lot at Sunset Park, which is along US-31 (Bay View Rd), across from Winter Park Lane. Park there and find the steps that lead down to Bayfront Park.
Clues:
Round and round and down you go. All the way to the bottom and on with the show. You may hear the trickle of a waterfall on the left. Feel free to wander around, and enjoy the view. Although you may be drawn in this direction, it is not the right way to go. From the bottom of the stairs, you’ll see 2 skinny trees & a large rock together in a group. From the rock, at 60°, sight a faded rocky path leading toward the cliff. Carefully climb those rocks. At the top of the rock ledge (still at the base of the cliff), go right. As you are ducking under branches, the trail makes a small incline. At this incline, there is a small cubby in the cliff wall. The box is in this cubby, hidden under some rocks.
At the time of planting, the faded rocky path was very close to a cluster of picnic tables. I don’t know if they get moved around as needed or if they are permanently in that spot. Please be very discreet when venturing up the path and retrieving or replacing the box. If possible, take the box out and go sit at a picnic table or in the grass to do your stamping.
