This letterbox is located in the reference department of the Children’s Room in the Wellesley Free Library, 530 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA 02482.
Directions to the library are located on the library’s website: www.wellesleyfreelibrary.org. The directions tab is on the upper right corner of the site.
To assemble the call number* where the letterbox is hidden, follow these directions:
*call numbers are the codes used to locate materials on the shelves of libraries.
1. Count the number of windows looking into the Quigley Youth Room from the main children's room. Double this number to get the first digit.
2. Go to the top of the stairs heading to the 2nd floor. Look right. Count the number of “No Cell Phone Zone” banners. Look left. Count the number of “No Cell Phone Zone” banners. Subtract the first number from the second number. This is the second digit.
3. On your way back to the Children’s room, stop by the fish tank on the left of the children’s room entrance. Admire the fish. Find the laminated card that shows pictures of some of the fish in the tank. Count the number of different fish shown on the card. This is the third digit.
4. Look for the “DVDs” sign over the DVD shelf by the bathrooms. What color is the background of the sign? This is the word needed.
5. The first line of the call number is “JUVENILE”.
6. The second line of the call number is “REFERENCE”
7. The third line of the call number are the digits in order.
8. Assemble the call number to find the letterbox.
There is a small table and chairs located near the letterbox, as well as public restrooms.
