Lover's Letterbox was planted for our 13th Wedding Anniversary. My husband originally listed this box as a WOM clue under a "fake" Atlasquest name. He wanted couples that go Letterboxing together to submit reasons why they should get the privalage of being the first finders. He was going to let my response be the winner. Then when we went to find it, he planned on having a pair of earrings or something in the box for me for our anniversary. I know...very sweet. Anyway, I figured his little plan out, so we decided to plant this box together.

This box is located at Cook Forest State Park. Park at Shelter #1 parking area. (Get a park map at the office if needed).
Walk behind the pavilion, and cross over the bridge.
Go on the Red Eft Trail.
At the next trail marker sign, continue on the Red Eft Trail (left)
Go up the stone steps to the end of the Red Eft Trail.
Go straight onto the Longfellow trail.
Hike to the end of the Longfellow Trail
Take a left onto Tom’s Run.
Walk until you reach the swinging bridge (green sides). Do not cross over bridge.
To your left, there is a tree that the woodpeckers sure have done a number on. Go to that tree.
Stand with your back to this tree, with the swinging bridge to your left.
You will see a very large fallen tree ahead of you…go to that tree.
From the fallen tree, continue straight- You will see a tree in front of you with a funny base.
From this funny tree, walk 10-12 steps directly in front of you to a large pine tree. You will find Lover’s letterbox under a rock at the base of this pine tree.
After finding the box, turn around and go back the way you came. You can follow Tom’s Run clear back to your car for a change of scenery (and easier hike), or go back exactly as you came.

Please re-hide well. Bring your own ink…brown and red suggested.
Record finds on both LbNA and Atlas Quest please, and let me know if the box needs any attention.
