California Highway 1 to the town of Bodega Bay. Once in the town of Bodega Bay, watch for a brown and white roadsign that says "Bodega Head, Westside Park and Marinas". There are identical versions of these signs visible for both northbound and southbound traffic. Turn west onto this road. It is called Eastshore Road.
Follow Eastshore Road to a stop sign. At the intersection turn right onto Bay Flat Road. Follow Bay Flat for 2.9 miles. This is a flat level road that follows the shoreline of Bodega Bay. It is great for walking or biking.
Bay Flat Road changes name to Westshore Road. After 2.9 miles, watch for a "Caution" road sign showing a J hook in the road and a 15 mile per hour speed limit. The road will curve uphill to the right. Do not follow the road, instead, go straight ahead into the parking lot for Campbell Cove and Hole in the Head. Park.
Look inland for a green navigational light, just like the ones in the bay. Follow the pathway toward the light. There is a wooden boardwalk at the end of the gravel pathway. The letterbox in under the left side of the broadwalk where it joins the gravel path.
Be sure to read the interesting history about the pool of water and why it is called Hole in the Head.
