To get to the starting point, head South on Willamette. Turn right on Crest Drive at about 32nd. Then go past Morse Ranch. When Crest Drive splits, go left. Follow the twists & turns and when you reach 37th, Crest wants to sharp turn to right. Don't do it! Go straight on Blanton Rd., instead. The Trail Head parking lot will be on the left. Take the main trail to the left of the sign. Go up, up, and when you reach the top, head into the woods. ~Let's go camping!~
CLUES:
BOX #1:*UPDATE*Due to trail maintenance, the second "One-night-quickie-shelter" is missing most of it's limbs. It still has the "Threshold" though. So count approximately 36 steps from the FIRST "one-night-quickie-shelter" Ok...we're here! First thing to do is set up the tent. Pass a sloped meadow on your left. Walking...pass what could be a "One night quickie shelter" (as our hero Les Stroud, Survivorman, would call it)on the left. (To me, it also looks like it could be a "sweat lodge").(NOW TAKE THOSE 36 STEPS) At the NEXT "One night quickie shelter" (dome-shaped)on the left, look under the right end of the log that acts as a door threshold. Find your shelter there.

BOX #2: Now you'll need to lay out your bedroll. Continue on the trail, across the boardwalk, slight left, through a tunnel of Elderberries & Alders. A little further...then stop at the little short-cut path to the right. Look at the base of the tree on the LEFT. Looks cozy in here already.
Now, let's set up the campsite. It's getting late. Should've gotten an earlier start. You'll need light.

BOX #3:UPDATE: This one is MIA. Staying on the main trail, hairpin right, past the next short-cut trail uphill on the left. Hairpin left, third large tree on the right, you'll find your light.
More work to do. You'll need some firewood ready to go.

BOX #4: Continue on trail, hairpin right, following "trail-rails". See a house? Switchback left, sharp right at top. At this point, don't let life lead you down the wrong path. There's still work to do, but don't forget you went camping to unwind ;-) Walking...walking...Ooops! Don't run into that tree smack in the middle of the trail! Keep going, now, till you see the first "good" trail (looks like an upside down "Y"), on the right. Count approximately 80 steps, till you see a very slight path on the right, that leads you to a large tree with lots of branches. Under one of the largest, lowest branches, back-side of the tree, you will find an important camping tool. Now get to work!

BOX #5: This box represents a camping staple. You can't really call it "camping" without it!
Back to the main trail. Walking...pass another small meadow on your left. Eat some Camas flowers, if they're blooming, but only the BLUE ones. The white ones are poisonous!:-( (buttercups are tasty too) Alrighty. Notice the erosion control across the trail. Pass A small path on the right. 21 steps. The "V" tree, there, on the left! Look for...Aahhh!! That's better! (This oughtta help with the mosquitoes too!)
At this time you might feel like you need a break. I know I do! So...continue to the next box for some rest.

BOX #6:This Box is MIA (missing in action)*UPDATE* Original clues mentioned an arch, but it's gone! So...Further down the trail, look for a huge, sculpted Maple tree, on the right. Look in the hidey-hole at it's feet. Find your prize and take a well deserved break! Now you're campin'!

BOX #7: Up the trail, through a "tunnel" of Alder, along a thin ledge (watch your step!). Pass a corner with a small culvert. Walking...up, then down, then down & around to an earthen root-ball on the left. The box is on the right side of the root-ball, down low, just a little off the trail, under root & bark.

BOX #8: This Box is MIA (missing in action) Still on the trail, continue down, down, past another root-ball. Under a Maple "arch". Surrounded by a beautiful field of ferns! Under another really cool Maple "arch" with ferns growing on it. Pass a couple short "trail-rails" on the left. Heading down, see a fern covered stump on the right. Count three more stumps on the right to find your "hot" prize, at the base, under mossy bark. Now you're cookin'!

BOX #9: Walking...notice the "double arches"? Just notice them & keep going. Getting hungry? Did you catch any fish? Still heading down, looking for any fauna you might see in the expanses on both sides of the trail. (really pretty in through here!) Flattening out a bit now. Pass 2 large, gravel trails to the right, leading straight to "Mugglesville"! Pass 2 much smaller paths to the right, past a "V" tree on the left, skip past a "Y" tree on the right. Small down, small up, short right. To your right, between base of tree & long log next to it, (the log almost reaches the trail ahead of you), slightly off the trail. Good! Cook the trout & eat it with your fingers! OR...

BOX #10: Getting thirsty now? Keep going. Trail still slanting down. Pass small trail to the right. Come to a major "Y" straight ahead. Oh! The trail to the left already has campers on it, atop the rocky knoll! In the center of the "Y", notice that strange tree doing the splits?! Under the left "leg", closest to the trail, under moss & bark, reach in & grab a cold one! Mmmm!

Box #11: Take the trail to the right. Head down, past a tree on the right, with a long "face". Switchback right. Down, down, down. Small left turn, over 1 erosion control & past "trail-rails" down low. Pass trail on left, & down steps. Giant, flat-top root-ball on left. Front, toward right side of root-ball, low, on short stump (yes, there's a stump down there) feel for rock & pouch. There! Just some mood lighting for you & yours ;-)

Box #12:UPDATE: This one is MIA! Continue on. Walking...you'll pass a big house on the hill, and a mean black river below with double yellow striped "No-Bassing" zones! Round the corner, you're on the ledge. Up, then flat. kinda small Oak on the left of the trail. Stop! I'm scared! Ok. On the right just ahead, see the small tree leaning/curving towards the trail. Look under the curved part of the trunk.
Now you have all you need to enjoy some time in the great outdoors!

Please be sure to carefully RESEAL & REHIDE, checking to make sure they can't be seen from either side, when possible! Thanx!
There are a lot of orange "trail reconstruction" markers along the whole trail. Hope things don't get changed too much.
