AS OF 1/29/12 THIS BOX CONTAINS 13 STAMPS

“These are a few of OUR favorite things” letterbox is located on Turkey Trot Trail in Shelton, Ct. Parking available on Constitution Blvd, near intermediate School. You will see a small parking area with a sign kiosk.

This letterbox is a STASH box; please bring along a stamp to leave in the box. (Due to size issues no bigger than 2” x 2”, can be hand carved, store bought, anything you want, don’t stress just have fun) This stamp should represent something you. The idea for a stash box is simple; each person leaves behind a stamp and slowly the collection grows, the fun of this is after awhile you can come back and see/stamp anything that has been added.

When stamping in the logbook, please be sure to stamp in your donation stamp also (if possible write your trail name on the back of the stamp), this way we will know our favorite things!

Once you have found the box-please join our tracker on Atlas Quest! These are a few of OUR favorite things-Shelton Stash, tradition tracker!

Box has no ink, please bring your own (possibly marker for more colors!)

Clues:
Park on Constitution Blvd and follow the yellow/white blazes. (There are two trail running the same path here)

Follow this trail for 1/10th of a mile and watch for a trail split, (yellow will bear left) follow Turkey Trot Trail as it goes right and up a hill.

Continue to follow this trail for quite awhile as it slowly climbs uphill. (Based on my walking time this was close to 5-10 minutes, but I tend to “power walk” when I know where I’m heading)

You will reach a spot where the trail bends to the right; this will be marked by a large rock sitting on the edge of the trail on your left side.

Past this spot continue walking until you reach a fork in the path. Follow the right fork and continue uphill.

You will walk only a few feet and cross over several rocks on the path (this is a very old stone wall now hardly even noticeable)

From this spot walk 2-2 ½ paces and stop. Turn 90’ to your right and spot a fallen down tree/log that is hollowed out.

Here you will find your stash, tucked inside the hollow under a flat rock. (rock is currently missing, box in tacked 6/30/10)

Please be sure to stamp/re-hide well. I would hate to see everyone’s hard work disappear. Be sure to include your stamp inside the double bagged area.
The box this is in is only temp. A larger one will come at the end of the season; a camping box will replace this box, which will be more weather/water proof.

If possible drop me a line and let me know what you included, I will add them to the box tracker.

Enjoy-may the faerie dust lighten your day!
