This Letterbox is part of my CT Quickies Series. (#10)

The other day I was running errands and wished I could be letterboxing. The weather was sunny, warm, and I thought to myself wouldn’t it be great if you could do both? So I decided to plant some boxes in traveling paths. Maybe you could grab these on your way to other boxes or while running errands. Most of these boxes are in high traffic areas so some stealth is required. My suggestion park your car, retrieve the box and bring it back to the car, stamp, log, and then return the box to its resting place.

The Bunch-a-balloons letterbox is located at the Open land Gristmill Trail on the Far Mill River in Shelton CT

Stamp has no ink please bring your own

Clues:

From the Open Space trail map, head down the white (main) trail.

When it reaches the split at the river, follow the trail to the left and walk along the river’s edge.

Very quickly you will come to where the trail crosses an old stone wall that has crumbled

Look to your left and see where the stone wall begins to take shape.

Located here, under the flat topped stone at the start of the wall you will find the bunch-a-balloons. The box is staring right at you as you look at the wall from the trail, no need to go to either side of the wall. (You should spot a little black stone with a brown tip to help mark the spot).

Enjoy-may the faerie dust lighten your day!
