1. Take exit 245 from I81 north

4. Turn left onto West Gay Street
5. Turn Right onto Chicago Ave.

Children’s Clues
Park near the corner of Willow and 2nd street. Stand on the concrete sewer facing Chicago Ave. You will be near Waterman School. It was named after Augustus Waterman, who donated the land.

Walk to the tennis court. Go to the far corner that is the closest to Chicago Ave, that is closest to the green and yellow playground that’s fenced in. Waterman was first open in1911

Face the playground with Chicago Ave. on the left

Skip to the 1st evergreen tree and pick three blades of grass. Run to the tan and red playground.

Go to the light pole, look up to the box that says B1; run across the yellow trashcan next to the climbing wall. Climb up the climbing wall and go down the slide twice. Before Waterman School opened, the only school was the High School and grade building on

South Main Street.

Walk to the shelter; count the number of picnic tables in the shelter.

Walk to the water fountain, then to the stump near the bathrooms. The first principal at Waterman was Miss Bessie Peck, who served till 1919.

Look across the street. What kind of funny mailbox is there?

Turn right from the fat stump and count your steps until you get to the first sign that says “Park Rules.” What time does the park close?

Got to the sign that looks like a police badge. What is name of the park?

Walk towards 2nd Street and stand on the concrete square.

Face Chicago Ave. and go straight to the walkway sign, then go to the stump on your right. Now look in the stump.
