Difficulty: Moderate
Terrain: Maintained gravel snow mobile trails, some hills
Time/Length: 15-20 minutes
======================================================
This is a longer hike on groomed snow mobile trails. If you know how to get to the tree swing, you can find this box from an alternate route.
Once you have found the Houghton County Arena, your hike will begin. Drive past the arena (with it to the left) to find the trailhead. Hike up the hill and follow the 3rd road from the left. Snow mobile trail 17 is where you what to be. Hike on and on. Pass “Stay on Trail” and stay in the middle. Your first left and you will see the Caution sign. This is about a 12 minute hike in. From the sign, 20 feet is a pine with branches all afreight. The back side of the tree hides what you seek.
This box was placed by the girls of the North Western Great Lakes Girl Scout Troop 5196 as part of their bronze award. Please enjoy.
