Every Day’s a Holiday, Every Meal’s a Feast

This is six of six Memorial Day boxes. They are temporary and will be available until mid June.

November 14th, 2004
Fallujah, Iraq

Operation Phantom Fury was in it’s fifth day. The Marines objective was to destroy enemy opposition in Fallujah. Their strategy was simple. When an insurgent strong hold was found it was blasted with artillery and mortars. If that wasn’t enough it was blasted by M1 tanks at point blank range. If that wasn’t enough it was raked with heavy machine guns and rockets from Bradley’s. And if even that wasn’t enough the position would be swarmed by Marines who would kill everyone that were left.

1st Sgt Brad Kasal was leading a team clearing buildings of terrorists when Kasal spotted a wounded American who said at least three Marines were trapped in a nearby house filled with "bad guys."

The Marines stormed the house and once inside spread out to cover vantage spots where insurgents might be hiding. As 1st Sgt Kasal and Pfc Alexander Nicoll moved toward an interior doorway Kasal came face to face with an Iraqi who opened up with an AK-47.

Clues:
Note that the area where the box is hidden was recently subjected to a controlled burn. The box was planted after the burn.

Begin at the Kettle Moraine South Forest headquarters. Circle around to the left of the headquarters building and take the Stony Ridge Nature Trail.

After the climb to the top of the ridge follow the nature trail sign to the left. When you reach the Oak Savanna sign go right to the savanna.

From the savanna remnant sign head straight south over the crest of the ridge and look for three large logs lined end to end. Look near the base of the middle log.
