Easy short hike, take your dog, take your kids, take Grandma...

If you hike in the desert, you will see lots of holes....many people wonder who made the holes? Snakes? Now how would a snake dig a hole?? Beetles?? Some of the holes are too big. Spiders? Mice? Actually, all the answers are correct. Many holes are started by beetles and enlarged by other animals including all of the above. So, keep hiking but don't stick your fingers down the holes or you may get a surprise by a scorpion or some other desert creature.
Go the the Red Mountain Park in Mesa, close to Brown and Power....it is very pretty and has a nice pond with lots of ducks and birds and bull frogs. Park in the lot where the ramadas are and look for some "lighting". (Now you have to figure out a few things). There are some numbers on the structures and when you get between 55 and 56, look for a path away from the pond toward the soccer fields. Head down the path and see a large pile of boulders on your left..... look to the right and you see one good size rock all by itself....Look under. Be sure to get the other LB in this park.
