Two-hundred fifty thousand herring leave the Atlantic and swim up stream to a pond in this town yearly, May - June. The herring literally swim up 117 steps, along this "run", to spawn every year. The best time to see the herring, when they are most active, is between 11am and 12 noon, although they are active at any time during the day. The fish return to the Atlantic late June - July. This run is located in the Jackson Square section of Weymouth off Commercial Street and across from CVS. If you are interested, they look for volunteers to help clean the run every year, around April and May. Litter can impede the progress of the herring, as it frequently collects in the steps of the run. You can contact the town for information.

Park and enjoy the run, which is behind the metal railing on the left. To find the stamp, walk along the "hard trail" around the "jumps and slides" toward the "court". Spy the pines behind the "court". You will find your prize nestled in the thin four-sister tree. Please be discrete, as this can be a very muggle ridden place. Also, please be sure to rehide this well. There are plenty of cones around. :-)
Enjoy!!
