Start at beach facing water in front of lifeguard stand. Turn right and walk along the water's edge. Pass a very small stream that flows into the lake. A bit further you will not be able to walk along the water's edge anymore. Instead go up the dirt trail and follow it until you reach "Big Rock" on your left. Climb it and see the view! Notice the trail that leads from Big Rock into the woods. Walk ~ 8 paces up this trail and see a fallen tree (big log) on your right. Walk 12 more paces and find another large fallen tree log on your right (moss coated). The box lies under this log almost halfway down the length of it.
