Locust Grove is the name given to the Samuel Morse property. Samuel Morse was a man who invented the telegraph, and he lived along the Route 9 corridor. His property is several miles north of Fishkill, New York. This means that the property is north of the Wal~mart Supercentre (which is adjacent to an exit for Interstate 84). It is also north of Sonic, America's Drive-in.

If you would like to visit the website for Locust Grove then please click here.

This ammunition box is hidden along the Hemlock Trail at Locust Grove. In order to locate the Hemlock Trail, you must obtain a map of the hiking trails. Such a map can most likely be obtained from either the visitors centre or from the kiosk near the entrance to the hiking trails.

It will also be difficult to find. Furthermore, the trail will be difficult to walk on. For these reasons, the box is best searched for by advanced users, and it may not be the box for you. If it is not the box for you, then we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.

The box was also hidden in late winter/early spring. Searching for the box in the middle of summer is not recommended, as the Hemlock Trail will be a snake-infested steambath during that time (a never-ending barrage of mosquitoes will be attacking you non-stop). Please take this fact of life very seriously. Snakes and mosquitoes are dangerous.

This box contains trade items, in case you are interested in that type of thing. Please do NOT remove the stamp, as it is not a trade item. Additionally, this stamp is abnormally large.

Once you are on the Hemlock Trail, you must search for a tree. This tree will be down on the ground, by virtue of the fact that it was uprooted. Furthermore, its root system (part of the base of the tree) will be RIGHT NEXT TO the trail. Furthermore, the root system will be FACING the trail. This root system will lie just WEST of the actual walking path, while simultaneously being EAST of the Hudson River.

(In other words, the tree will not lie between the Hemlock Trail and the Ravine Trail. It will lie between the Hemlock Trail and the Hudson River).

The root system of the tree will be covered with sedimentary rocks. These rocks will most likely be shale.

In addition, the tree will PERPENDICULAR to the trail. The entire trail itself will be situated on a hill. The end of the tree opposite the root system will be at the bottom of the hill. Lastly, the tree will exist at roughly the midpoint of the Hemlock Trail.

A pile of rocks will exist at the base of the root system of the tree. This pile of rocks will conceal a naturally-occurring crevice in the ground. This crevice will contain the hidden box.

Please enjoy this box responsibly, and re-hide it carefully. We do not want any accidental findings of this box. Thank you so very much for your cooperation.
