Been a ton of construction in this area lately, causing both boxes to go missing. I'm planning to replace at least one of these once it is complete, but that could take some time....

Your journey will begin at Culver City Park at the intersection of Jefferson Blvd. and Duquesne Ave. This is a special park with several sections. One is the wilderness trail section, the grassy playground park secton, and the newest section, the Bone Yard Dog Park. Bring gloves as you will be hunting in the Wilderness Trail section. Make sure you wear good walking shoes too. This park is usually VERY crowded, so be discreete and don't let walkers see you boxing!

CLUES: Start from the intersection of Jefferson Blvd. and Duquesne Ave. Drive up the hill street through the grassy part of Culver City Park until you see the Bone Yard. Turn left into the first parking lot. This is where you will start letterboxing!

BOX #1- Wild Cat

One thing I have noticed about Culver City Park is there are many Feral Cats that live there. People leave small containers with water and food out for these cats to use.

From the Parking lot, find the start of the wooden ramp that is the beginning of the Culver City Interpretive Nature Trail. Walk up the wooden trail. Path changes into a dirt path at the climbing wall, then changes back to the wooden bridge-like trail. This is where the Feral cats are usually spotted. Follow the wood trail up. Pass through many twists and turns up the hill. At the top of the hill, the wood path ends at the parking lot for the baseball field. Exit the wood path to the left on the grassy area. Go to the huge sundial that might remind you of a meat thermometer. Sit down at "Time is a River," and look to your right. See the thin dark brown tree behind the trash can? Walk to the tree and stand to the left of it. Walk 20-23 steps down the hill until you are in a patch of trees and bushes. Then take 7 more steps down to the right of the small bush growing in front of you to the large Eucalyptus tree. Duck down under branches, and at the right side of the base, in a small nook, under leaves and bark about 3 inches is the wild cat. For your information, I made a mistake carving the cat's stripes, so it is hard to see the outline. A good idea is to draw in the outline that was mistakenly cut out.

When you are done make sure you re-hide the box EXACTLY where you found it, and cover it up. Also make sure you are not seen by anyone when you are finding or re-hiding the box.

BOX #2- Bone Yard

Although this box is not in the Bone Yard, it is close. This stamp was carved by The Trout Lady. It is her first carve.

From Box #1, come back down the ramp. Where the wood ramp ends near the climbing gear, locate the green "Irrigation Control Valve" on your right. Walk down the hill to the yuccas. To the left of the yucca is a huge tree. At the base nearest the path is the camo box under a HUGE pile of leaves.

When you are done make sure you re-hide the box EXACTLY where you found it, and cover it up well. Also make sure you are not seen by anyone when finding, or re-hiding.

This park is a fun place to stay at for a while and enjoy the beauty of the view points in the park. If you brought your dog, head on over to the Bone Yard for your dog to have some fun in the sun.
