There are two ways to get to this letterbox.

First way: Hiking: Go to John Hinkel Park, an old and large park in Berkeley.I left a google map link in the links section. Park at the bottom of the park near the old ampitheater,Go to the stairs towards the right and go up the staircases to the absolute most total northeast corner of this glorious old park, There you will see an old bay tree with a few holes in it next to about 20 stone stairs leading to Upton Lane. Behind the Bay tree with holes is a redwood tree, At the base of the redwood tree, between the bay and the redwood is the letterbox buried under leaves.

Second way:Driving:Drive up Arlington Ave. like you are going to John Hinkel Park, turn right onto Somerset Pl., then make an immediate left onto Southhampton Ave. after one block. Follow Southampton Ave. up the hill to San Diego Rd. Turn Right on San Diego Rd. and follow this road unti it is about to make a sharp hairpin turn to the right. The street sign says this is the beginning of Upton Lane.On your right you will see the top of the small stone staircase that is the most northeast corner of Hinkel Park. At the base of the redwood tree that is right there between an old bay tree with holes is the letterbox.
