CRANMORE MOUNTAIN LODGE is a historic farmstead, over 140 years old. It has been welcoming White Mountain travelers for more than 100 years. Located on 8 acres of private land in a residential area, with resort like amenities, Cranmore Mountain Lodge is open year round and welcome couples, kids, groups and even dogs.
FOR THE STORY: Babe Ruth used to stay at Cranmore Mountain Lodge when his daughter owned the Inn in the 1940s. Room 2 still displays his original furniture. JFK Junior spent some time here as well, before his marriage, when he was climbing in the area!
Park you car in the parking lot and take the stairs that are between the main building and the loft building leading to the backyard. Walk around the pond and between the barn and the tennis court, you’ll find the beginning of a trail. On your right, a trail map is pinned to a tree. Right next to this tree on the right, there is another tree and you'll find the box at the base of the trunk, covered with branches.
