Game, set, match!

This clue is encrypted using a simple Caeser code.

What’s a Caesar code? Simply ‘bump’ the encoded letters in the cipher text backwards in the alphabet the number of places your key number gives you. For example, if “BOB” is your key word, it has 3 letters, so your key number is 3. If your encrypted word is ZHVW, simply go back three letters for each. Z becomes W, H becomes E, V becomes S and…can you get the last one?

Your key word is the answer to this question: What is the sport described below?

This sport originated in the United Kingdom in the late 19th century. It is now an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society at all ages world-wide. The sport can be played by anyone who can hold a racket, including people in wheelchairs. There are millions of recreational players and it is also a popular worldwide spectator sport, especially the four Grand Slam tournaments: the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. Equipment needed includes racquet, bright yellow balls, and court. Scoring can be quite confusing and involves such terms as “love”, “deuce”, and “ad”. Court surfaces can vary from clay to grass, but standard hard courts are the most common here.

Here is your cipher text. Enjoy!

Just past the first parking lot on your right, you will see a monument to Parks’ Black Heritage. Take the small gravel road to the right of this monument into the woods. Stay right when the drive forks and park at the bottom of the hill. You’ll see a pair of recently abandoned courts. Walk outside of the fence to the left of the courts. Uphill will be stone ruins and further down on your right will be a second pair of even longer abandoned courts. Climb under and over the fallen tree and stop at the end of the court fence. Walk about 5 1/2 paces (1 pace = 2 steps) past the corner of the fence into the group of trees straight ahead. One of these trees possesses a nice hiding hole in its base wherein you’ll find the letterbox and the clues to a bonus box nearby!

Please re-hide carefully.
