I spent a few years of my childhood living in Cedar Park. My house backed to acres and acres of cedar trees where the cows and horses roamed. We would go bareback ridding when the horses were out and we would lay in the fields playing hide and seek with the bulls just for fun. One day a tractor came in and the cedars were removed and a new park was placed where I use to roam free in nature.
Elizabeth Milburn Community Park consists of 35.84 acres and offers a playground, picnic tables, a large picnic shelter, small picnic shelters, barbecue pits, one-mile walking / jogging trail, sand volleyball courts, a basketball court, tennis courts, washer pits, restrooms, soccer fields, open field space, baseball backstops, community garden, 4/10 mile veloway, a recreational BMX track, a swimming pool and a new rock climbing wall.
Find yourself at the North East Corner of the park. Its the corner closest to the intersection of Sun Chase and Cypress Creek Rd. There is a very small cemetery with only one headstone representing the entire family buried there, The headstone is actually for Daniel Monroe McRae who use to own the land. (When I was young I would go here and pray his ghost would stop haunting me) Standing at the iron gate entrance to the cemetery look right down the fence line to the corner of the fence. There is a tree limb reaching out of the encloser. At about eye level (5') the limb has a hole. You will find the camo microbox inside the hole covered with cedar shreds. Please replace and hide well...
