SPECIAL THANKS TO JET PHOENIX FOR HELP REPLACING THIS BOX!

Lake Arrowhead is a reservoir created in 1966 on the Little Wichita River and covers approximately 16,200 surface acres, with 106 miles of shoreline. Built primarily as a water supply by the City of Wichita Falls, the lake is also a major recreational site for the North Central Plains. Located on its north shore, Lake Arrowhead State Park offers fishing, lake swimming, water skiing, disc golf, picnicking, camping, nature study, hiking, horseback riding and boating. It is also home to a Black-tailed Prairie Dog town and this letterbox.

Directions:
From the Dallas/Fort Worth area on Hwy 287/82 going west, exit at Jolly, Texas and travel south on FM 2393. Go approximately 7 miles and turn left on FM 1954 for approximately 3 miles to the entrance of the park on the left.
From Hwy 287 in Wichita Falls, travel south on Hwy 281 approximately 7 miles and turn left on FM 1954. Go about 8 miles to the park entrance.

Clues:
Stop at entrance station to pay fee and pick up a map. Drive to the group picnic area and park by the nature trail. From the trail head sign, walk 85 steps to a fork in the loop trail. Go left (north) for 50 steps to a post on the right. Continue another 117 steps to a post on the left. Continue another 75 steps to a post on the right. Continue another 47 steps to a post on the right. Continue another 33 steps to a post on the right. Continue another 60 steps to a post on the left. Continue another 90 steps to a post on the left. Continue another 10 steps, then look to your right (west) for a gnarled tree with a "V" trunk about 7 steps from the trail. The camo microbox is hidden in the "V" under some dead bark. Please re-cover well. NOTE: It has been reported that some of the posts are no longer there, but the steps should still work.
