SORRY THIS LETTERBOX HAS BEEN STOLEN. I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN WE REPLACE IT.

Located in Theodore A. Parker Natural Area in southern Lancaster County
From Quarryville: Follow Route 222 south for approx. 3 miles. Go passed Solanco High School and turn left onto Blackburn Road. Follow Blackburn Road approx. 3 miles and as you near the bottom of a very long steep hill; make a hard left hand turn onto Wesley Road. After crossing the small cement bridge, pass the park sign and turn left into the parking area. From here your adventure begins.
This journey gets a little steep and is not recommended for small children.

1. Start you trek to Fairy Mountain at the beginning of the trail in the parking lot.
2. Take time to read all about Fawn’s Animal friends on the sign’s to your right. (if you are lucky you may just see a few)
3. Notice the beauty of all the plant life as you walk. Rosetta (the garden fairy) is keeps things in color most of the year.
4. After a few minutes, the trail will soon start getting closer to Silvermist’s Creek. Listen to the sound as you walk on. Stay close to water as the trail splits in a ‘Y’ shape. Across the creek you will notice an amazing rock formation. This rock may look familiar to some of you. I have heard it referred to as Pride Rock which is Simba’s Lookout from the Lion King. Rumor has it Scar’s Lair is not too far from here. Be on guard!!
5. After admiring the view you must continue on the path to Fairy Mountain.
6. You will notice that trail begins to climb slightly uphill. Look carefully for the very large twin trunk tree on your left. Once you are even with this tree count 4 paces. You have found a deserted fairy ring touching the left side of the trail. This is a neat find but not what you have come for.
7. Keep walking and Watch your step, your feet may get a little wet. Silvermist has directed a freshwater stream right through your path.
8. Sneak carefully across the troll bridge. There is a crazy little troll living under there who gets a bit grumpy when disturbed and may demand a fee for crossing!!
9. Now that you have safely arrived to the other side of the bridge you are entering a mysterious land few humans have seen. It is inhabited by the most talented fairies on earth! You will see what I mean.
10. Fairy Mountain is up ahead. Be sure to take the trail that goes up and to the right. Iressa (the fairy of light) will allow some rays through the canopy above to help guide your way. Keep to the left as the trail comes close to the creek again.
11. At this point the trail may be hard to see. Follow the red blazes on the trees. Just as the trail turns uphill again you will see a dark cave on your right. You are on the correct path…keep going. You will continue a short climb and then follow the path along a large rock that forms a wall to the right. You will still be able to see red blazes ahead. When you approach a tree with double red blazes take 4 paces and turn up to the right. (Hang in there, we are almost there. Maybe Tinkerbelle will be by with some Pixie Dust to keep you going!!) Up and slightly to the left is a rock formation. What you are looking for is wedged in a crevice created by 2 large rocks. It is guarded by a small quartz crystal. The rock on the left of the crevice creates a porch for the Fairy meetings. Follow this large rock with your eyes to the right where it forms a corner.
