The Bishop Box is placed within Sleepy Hollow State Park. A portion of the hike will be near a horse trail, so dogs may need to be leashed. This is a great hike for children! Also, you may want to wear hunter's orange during hunting season.

Enter Sleepy Hollow State Park. Stay on the main road, and go to the Beach parking lot. You will need to cross back over the main road to begin your journey.

Find your way to the horse staging area. As you apporach, it will be on your left. Be sure there is not a Hessian soldier missing his head.

In front of you will be a barricade, but don't let that deter you. Go beyond, and begin the trail that is blue.

It will soon be decision time- left or right? Choose the direction in which Ichabod can watch the sunset into night.

As you make your way, you will notice a marshy area on your left side. Is it only a marsh, or Wiley's swamp near the home in which Ichabod did once reside?

You will approach a "T" in the trail. Which way shall you go? Turn left, and cross the stone culvert where water did once flow.

Follow the creekbed to the left of the trail. You will quickly find mighty Major Andre's tree, and at the base a rock that is not frail.

Stand on the large stepping stone with the tree behind you. Take 8 paces, and look beneath the remains of where something mighty once grew.
