Angle Fly Preserve is brand new and just opened its first trail this fall. This beautiful piece of property is maintained by Friends of Angle Fly Preserve and Somers Land trust. It was named after the last natural brook-trout spawning stream in Westchester. This inspired our stamp- humor us- we are new at making stamps! The trail is 1.8 miles total and the letterbox is located about half-way through the hike. It's fairly level and an easy hike for children. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the sanctuary, however.

Angle Fly Preserve is on the west side of Primrose Street (route 139) a 1/2 mile south of Reis Park. Enter the sanctuary via the driveway, which is marked with a brown wooden sign, and follow the left fork to the end at a parking lot. The Yellow Trail Loop begins at the parking lot. Follow it until you reach the stream. Continue on the trail along the stream until you come to a stone wall. At this point you will also see a large upturned tree over the stream- its unearthed roots are quite impressive! Walk along the stone wall to the right of the trail until you reach the first tree. The letterbox is nestled along the base of the tree, covered in sticks and leaves. Volunteers are working hard to preserve native vegetation and the historical stone walls in the area, so please be mindful of this. For this reason the letterbox is hidden really near the trail- so keeping it a secret will be tricky. Please re-hide it well so that it won't be visible from the trail.

Enjoy your hike and the peaceful stream!
