"I was a studious girl; and the acquisition of knowledge has been a passion with me during my whole life, one which has not lost its charm to the present day."
Liliuokalani, last native ruler and legitimate constitutional Queen of Hawaii. This box is a tribute to the last Queen of Hawai'i. While I couldn't plant it in the palace, I found the next best thing with its own bit of history.

Find the "First Lady of Waikiki". Go past the rocking chairs, to your left is a grand staircase, go up one floor. Linger, learn and admire all you want. When you are ready, take the lift up one more floor. Look for the thing most like a Letterbox. Next to the man running away from the flames, tucked behind and down, is this blue magnetic micro-box (about the size of a match-box). There is a handy bench right there to stamp in. In an effort to be compact and to keep all the pieces together, I have glued the stamp to the back of the log book (don't try to take it off) and velcro-ed the spine of the log book to the inside of the box. I don't know how long this box will last, the people there are unaware of its existance, so really double check that it can't be seen when you leave.
