Hidden Squirrel

The “Hidden Gem” of the San Bernardino Mountains, Green Valley Lake is, at 7000´, a higher resort community than either Lake Arrowhead or Big Bear. Located only 90 minutes away from Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties, in the San Bernardino Mountains, Green Valley Lake attracts visitors seeking clean air, blue skies, crystal-clear water, and the serenity and calm beauty of a quiet forested community. This “best kept secret on the mountain” is secluded (nearly four miles away from State Highway 18), and surrounded by National Forest. For all these reasons it has remained small, picturesque, and uncrowded. There are many hiking trails and family activities to keep you busy in this adorable little town.

At intersection of Wild Cherry and Holcomb Creek Dr. there is a dirt access road heading North.

Follow access road past the “manatee with lipstick”

Follow the trail NW through the trees to the rocks.

Turn to your left (West) and follow a smaller path downhill. Directly ahead of you will be a tree stump and a very large rock.

Once you are at the stump, turn right (North) and walk 15 steps. Then turn left (West) and walk another 15 steps and squeeze between a large rock and tree. A small path between two small boulders will be directly in front of you.

The box is hidden in front of you under the flat rectangular rock. Please make sure not to let others see you as you pull the box out!!

Don’t forget to spend some time admiring the view of Lake Arrowhead. If you are the adventurous type, go back to the access road and follow it until it turns West. Make your way up the hill and climb up the boulders towards “Balancing Rock” for another awesome view of Lake Arrowhead. If you bring a picnic lunch, you'll have the perfect spot to eat it!

Please email us @ sncmerri@aol.com to update us on the status of the box! Thanks and happy hunting!
