Letterbox replaced, original disappeared during Hurricane Irene 8/28/2011.

Letterbox will give you a little history along with a short sea side stroll.
This letterbox is at Fort Nathan Hale Park on Woodward Ave in New Haven,CT.
The fort originated in 1776, was manned to protect the harbor during 3 wars.
Find the letterbox to learn more.

Take I-95 North to Exit 50. Right onto Woodward Ave.
OR
Take I-95 South to Exit 51. Take 2nd left onto Woodward Ave.

Drive about a mile, just before a sharp left curve is a parking lot on the beach for Nathan Hale Park.
Park to the far right near the Fort Hale fishing pier pilings.
Walk past the pier, around 2 concrete barriers and straight towards Black Rock Fort.
Explore the fort and enjoy the harbor views.
Stand at the cannon ready to protect New Haven again, turn 180 degrees and walk 8 paces to the silver pole.
The box is hidden here but at ground level.

Have fun and good luck!
