Long ago, in what seems like another world, Uncle Sam brought together a gaggle of young fellas from all over this fine nation ... Texas ... Wisconsin ... Georgia ... the Dakota's ... the Carolina's ... Michigan ... Tennessee ... Pennsylvania ... Ohio ... New York ... New Jersey ... California ... Minnesota and Indiana. We came, we grew, we bonded. We became a brotherhood of strangers as we served our country. When our time was up we went home as men and went on with our lives, proud in the fact that we had served together and we had served our country with dignity. Now, 41 years later, many of us have gathered here to re-acquaint ourselves, for only the second time since we served...and to remember our time together at Ft Carson, Colorado from 1966-1968. God Bless all who have served and especially those who served in A Battery, 4th Battalion, 80 Artillery, 5th Army Group during that time. I love them all like brothers! This box is being placed to honor them all, both the living and those who have gone on ahead, who served with us during that time. The stamp is a replica of the 5th Army insignia we all wore on our shoulders back then. This weekend marked the 41st anniversary of our return to our families after our time together. What a great group of guys they are!
To get to this box:
Find where loyal Americans would gravitate to in this fine city and park in the lot. Face the Walking Trail sign in the northeast corner.
Forward March.
Salute Liberty.
Order Arms.
Column Right March.
Ok, Ok, enough of that military stuff, it's been too long and I wasn't too good at it anyway. I might goof and march you right into the water! Stay on the trail and keep the grass to your right. Find Walter's sign and read it. Make your way around to the left and behind, staying on the grass. There will be a bush on your right and under the far end of it you will find what you seek.
Please be very discreet as this is a very public area, but one can be stealthy and get this box without detection...be cautious and please rehide well, making sure it isn't easily seen.
Thank you and have fun boxin'! God Bless all veterans everywhere!
