Rosebud, located on Jessup Trail in the Highland Trails System, in Cornwall, NY
Parking to access the trail is opposite the trail entrance on Taylor Rd which can be reached from either Otterkill Rd, or from Route 32 behind the BlackRock Rod & Gun club.
This hike is approximately 45 minutes each way at a family pace.
The trail begins with a small uphill hike in heavy clover. At the top of the hill the trail opens to a large field. You’ll see the thruway to your left. Trail is well worn and marked. Go straight across the field. Trail bends to the right and hugs the edge of the field.
Trail comes to an intersection, head straight across on Jessup Trail (small white sign on left). Short walk from here to the edge of another field thick with clover. There seem to be many paths but all lead to a small wooden bridge directly across the field (stay to the right for shortest path).
After the wooden bridge it is a short uphill hike through the woods to the main trail. This is well marked with yellow squares and Highlands Trail diamonds. Take a right onto the main trail. The trail resembles a small dirt road and runs parallel to an active RR bed which is uphill to your left. Follow this trail about 10-15 minutes. You’ll see a small waterfall emptying into a small pool on the left.
Don’t get your feet wet. The Rosebud hides across the water at the foot of the white giant.

Return via reverse route.
