The "Seven Year Itch" letterbox is located in Finch Arbroetum, the site of Silver Eagle and I's first letterbox find (Finch Arboretum) seven years ago! Hard to image if we had not found that box if we would have ever go into letterboxing. But we did, and the hobby has been a great reward, finding new places I would not have gone to, and meeting many wonderful people! As for this box, Finch Arboretum is a beautiful park, which I would have liked to spend hours at. Have fun!
Directions:
From Spokane, going west on I-35, exit #280, and go right. Follow road until it reaches W. Sunset Blvd. Turn right and look for sign and park entry on the right. Turn right, then right, then left to parking area next to Arboretum building and sign board.
To the Letterbox:
Starting at sign board, go into the park and off to your right, cross a small bridge. Climb up the hill on the other side and find the roadway going along the edge of the park. Turn left on the roadway and follow it along the park edge until you reach the bathroom building on the right side. Go to the bathroom (should be in Crabb Apple area). Facing the bathroom, go to left side, then along the brush line for 13 steps to a large rock. Go over the rock and into the trees, to the large tree just to the left. The box is on the back side of the tree, under needles and leaves.
