Follow US-31 N toward Charlevoix. On the left before you pass the "Charlevoix Twsp" water tower (looks like a hot air balloon) there is a small road, BELLS BAY RD, turn left on this road and follow around the curve to the end where you can either go straight into the St. Mary's Cement Plant or you can turn left following the sign to Fishermans Island, follow the sign. Follow this road straight ahead and it will dead end in a parking area looking out onto beautiful Lake Michigan. From the ranger station follow the road along the lake. There are camping sites to the right along the water, when you pass campsite number 35 the road becomes unpaved , keep going you are getting close! Follow the road straight to the dead end, there you see a parking area and straight ahead a foot bridge. DO NOT CROSS THE FOOT BRIDGE!! Instead to the right you will see a clearing, go to it and in the summer there might be a couple picnic tables. Standing facing toward the parking area, look to your right and you will see a very small stream and a tree fallen over it. Stand at the bace of the tree and look directy to your left. You will see a large twisty tree. Under the tree covered with rocks and twigs is our letter box. PLEASE rehide carefully! This is a VERY popular area. We have ink and a pen.
