When you are in Lolo, find a sign that points the way to the HOT SPRINGS. This is the direction that you need to be going. Find the Lolo National Forest Picnic Ground Historic Site: Fort Fizzle not too far up on the left hand side. Pull into the parking area and park. Go to the signs that are closest to the road and read up on this history. After you are done, find the walking trail furthest east that starts at the parking lot edge. Follow the trail till you come to the end, which is a nice creek. Even nicer is that it's a great spot to let the kids wade or cool off sore feet. Someone has made a nice little swimming hole with rock piles.
After you have cooled off, take a left where the main trail ends. Follow the trail 84-97 steps. ((We had 3 people doing steps, and 3 different numbers!!)) You will then come to an object that lays in your way- this is the 2nd such item. Turn to your left and follow this item to it's end. On the opposite side, underneath, of where you stand you'll find your own personal Fizzle.
Head back once you found it and enjoy a nice picnic!
