The only way to really ENJOY baseball, is to listen to it on the radio. AM 1340, a locally owned radio station is a New York Yankees affiliate. However, being a New Englander, I grew up listening to Red Sox baseball and listening to it on a scratchy transistor radio while my dad would tinker in the garage. This box is planted in memory of my dad, who passed away in August 2006. The LB is a "bonus" in a sense that it has 3 stamps: one for the RADIO STATION; one for the NY Yankees; and one for the Boston Red Sox. Needless to say, whenever the Yankees and Red Sox play, it's guaranteed to go the distance (or even into extra innings). Once you find that which you seek, don't forget to TUNE in to AM 1340 WENT to hear the BEST baseball action around.
Getting there:
From I-90, take thruway exit 28 Johnstown/Gloversville. Take Route 30-A all the way through Johnstown. You will pass a Super8 Motel on the left, and a Holiday Inn on the right. At the next set of lights, take a RIGHT onto Harrison Street. WENT is about .1 miles on the right.
The box has been planted with permission of the station Manager, but use stealth when seeking out your treasure! Re-hide well when done with the box!. Approach the station and park. This one isn't too difficult. As you look at the main building, the second shrub in from the left side holds the "Radio Rivals". Enjoy and happy letterboxing.
