Midnight Fey’s Challenge
by Midnight Fey of The Nightwalkers
When I say challenge
That’s what I mean
It’ll take you some work
Before this box is seen
Your starting point will be Wetzel Lake Day Park. (The Nightwalkers have a group box planted here already.) Follow Wetzel Lake road East off 131, approx. 1 ½ miles to the parking lot.
To the left there is a trail that heads away from the beach and boat launch. Follow the trail out to the clay pits.
Look out across the water, your destination is straight ahead. Wade across the lake, it’s not very deep (less than 2 ½ foot), just watch out for the hole, it is deeper (but clearly visible through the water). Just be careful, the clay can be slippery in spots.
Trek across the land, you will probably want a pair of shoes for this, so either carry a pair, or if you’re lucky enough to have water shoes, you’re all set. You may want to walk along part of the waters edge to keep yourself on track. A near vertical hill with a dirt path is the direction you are headed.
Through the water, across the land, it’s time to climb towards the sky. Follow the dirt trail up and into the woods. At the top of the hill stands a group of trees, their trunks clustered together. Nestled amongst these trunks is where the challenge ends.
*Bring your own ink and something to write with.
