We got home early from our vacation celebration and were able to hike at our favorite park near us, Crench Freek.

Parked at the lot off Fire Tower Road and headed East on the trail. At the Y stayed on horsy trail until the darn it! (Not allowed to swear). Crossed the darn it! and had lunch at the picnic tables. Then we head on the green trial looking for the elusive new white trail. Crossed the paved road and continued on the green trail. When we hit the four way junction went left on blue. At the Y stayed on blue, skipping Penny.

Followed blue and did some side tracks to GOT areas on unmarked trails. Cool, knowing a park so well, but finding stuff that you didn’t know existed! Stopped to pick some raspberries for dessert and then continued on blue, but then stayed on yellow back to the lake. Followed the lesser lake trails got lost and ran into some PI. Back to roads up from the lake. Finally picked up Boone again off Fire Tower Road. Stopped at the little stream past the bridge to cool off on the blue trail.

Then to the intersection of Boone, Horse Shoe Trail and Turtle. Headed west and back to the car. At a “Pit Stop” noticed a really gnarly tree. One of these three boxes was going to be planted! From the V blaze (yellow/white), generally south to a burly bottomed tree. Under a rock.

1. Sometimes our adventures have us hiking in circles, nothing wrong with that. It is the journey that matters.
2. I am sure there is an easier route to the box. ;-)
3. Hug those you love often
4. Read the waiver stuff.
5. Etc, Etc, Etc.
