I have seen a lot of boxes here in Anchorage, and around the area, about moose, and salmon.I thought it about time some other Alaskan animals got noticed...
This series of 4 boxes salutes the caribou, the puffin, the orca and the Dall sheep..I hope to continue this in another series later..
There is a geocache in this park, too.

CLUES :

Find Sitka Park---off 15th/DeBarr on Sitka Rd.

After parking, head to the left and the pavillion..

Sorry, but the new bos,log book etc., will have to wait for spring to get planted.. Time got away from me..

Box one--the caribou
Following the tree line( Cut grass area ) find the tall, yellow, rusty, pipe..with this pipe at your back, facing into woods, count about 30 steps ahead, slightly going right, and find the double white birch trees......under the leaves and sticks find the noble caribou.(remember I have short legs)

Box two---The puffin-----The Cute puffin is all Dr-ed and back in a new nest----Back in the mowed area,go along the edge and towards the bridge...Stop at the bulletin board..look to the left and kinda behind this and see the tall bush with the "crazy hairdo"----nesting under this is the little bird you seek...
Box three--- the orca
Back up on the paved path, count 2 green light( counting the one at the bridge) poles...standing on lighting ,going leftish, count 28 steps..
See the tallest tree/bush,on your left???There, under more leaves and sticks, you will find the mighty orca.

Box four--- The Dall sheep.
Back on the pavement,go two more light poles..again standing on lighting( light pole on your left)..Looking toward the bushes to your right,30 steps to the bushes there..STOP!!!looking left you will see the second set of double trees..about 10 steps and under more leaves and sticks you will find the nimble Dall sheep..

Log in here..

Then continue along the pavement and back to the parking lot. Hope you enjoyed ths little park. Seems like a nice place to bring the kids and a picnic lunch..

Nana C and the seedlings have taken over my boxes
