Walk distance: about 5.2 miles round trip
Trail difficulty: fairly easy, a fairly flat dirt trail

The answers to the questions in the clues for this webbox are located in Yellowstone National Park in northwest Wyoming. Letterboxes are not allowed to be physically placed in national parks. So, I have created this webbox. You must actually visit the area of the clues; however, you need to go to the Web to obtain your finders stamp and sign the log book.

This is a scenic and interesting walk. It takes you along the edge of the Midway Geyser Basin and ends at a high waterfall. Dogs are not allowed on the trail. Bikes are allowed on the first mile of the trail. There is a bike rack at the first mile point.

Enter Yellowstone National Park and travel to the Fairy Falls Trailhead which is along the west side of the highway between Old Faithful and Madison. The turnoff for the parking area is 4.6 miles north of Old Faithful and 11.5 miles south of Madison. RVs, trailers and buses are not allowed to park in the lot.

At the start of the trail there is a large wooden trail sign board. On the board is a large trail map with two lines of words on the top left of the map. In the first line, what is the 4th word?

Walk on the trail all the way to Fairy Falls. Just after approaching the falls, there is a medium size wood bridge on the trail. How many planks go across the bridge (count only those planks that end under the round log railings and not the steps)?

To create the mystery word, add the number from the second question to the end (without spaces) of the word (in lower case) from the first question. Paste the mystery word into this URL (replacing the question marks “???” with the mystery word):

http://nostalgia.esmartkid.com/???.html

Now, plug/paste the new URL into your web browser and you will have completed your search for the Yellowstone Park Webbox II.

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ .
